FOUNDATION FEMALE * BONE * POWER

We bought Miss Magic 6-12 from Scott Hardman and Cory Miller on a road trip to central Illinois to pick up a propane tank. Although we had strict orders from our accountant not to buy anymore pigs, 6-12 turned out to be an excellent investment. She is the foundation of our herd! She is a heavy structured and powerful female. She has a moderate frame with massive blade, top and hip. She has excellent flexibility and bone, bone, bone. She is also an excellent mother.

STYLISH PROFILE * BALANCE * CORRECTNESS

Like mother, like daughter–she could be a tick better. She has a more moderate frame size than her mother. This girl is stylish and impeccable in her design. She is feminine, has clean head and neck, transitions into a bold yet smooth shoulder, very well balanced with good muscle, good bone, nearly perfect structure, and extremely flexible. She has been a fantastic mother and raises deep, consistent litters.

HEAVY STRUCTURE * BOLD & BOXY * FLEXIBILITY

Littermate to King Indy. She is one of the most unique females we have raised. She definitely inherited some of Walter’s traits. She is more boxy and heavier muscled than her mother. She is a powerful, heavy structured gilt with big wide-spread blades, wide top, and a long deep hip. She is big boned, has excellent angles on her hind legs and is super flexible. She is one tough cookie. She was raised on pasture with 5 littermate barrows and we were glad to bring her back home. This female has generated some of our best Berks. MQ

CLEAN-FRONTED * POWER * PERFECT HIP & HIND LEGS

Miss Magic 4-5 has the look of being a “barrow-maker!” She has mass and power in a stylish design. She is chisel-fronted, explodes out of her blade with curvature of rib and crisp wide level top. Her hip design is nearly perfect. Her structure is impeccable. It’s hard to make them this good with feet and legs, but 4-5 probably has the best angles on all four legs in our herd. She is one true powerhouse with lots of flexibility. She could be the best gilt out of litter 4. This is a pretty bold statement because her littermate sister was the popular class winner at the 2013 STC. MQ

SQUARE BASE * LEVEL TOP * POWER & STOUTNESS

Miss Magic 14-1 is one of the more unique females we have raised. She is impressive with her combination of stoutness and correctness. She is the most boxy of any female we have and she lays in a wide and level top with a square crisp loin edge out of her blade to her hams. She is heavy boned with one of the most correctly designed hind legs and hock set. She has a small attractive head with a high head carriage that clearly shows how wide-chested she is. She was our pick of a very deep litter. Her sisters were popular among the Fall, 2013 buyers. We really like her combination of attractive phenotype, meat quality genetics, and a proven maternal line. Tested meat quality in her pedigree–Hostile Takeover was #1 and Walter was #4 for PORQUE in 2013. MQ

What goes around…comes around. We sold Miss Magic 17-7’s dam to Ryan Mast and she has been a good sow–generated the 2014 Berkshire Hog College Boar. Viper really worked great on this HoneyBadger x Gary Coleman female. She is super stout in her bonework, and she is massive in her blade, top, and hip. This girl is freaky wide and square. We immediately fell in love with this girl and we have high hopes she will generate. We appreciate her unique pedigree (Viper / Venom x Justify x HoneyBadger / Gary Coleman x Gary Coleman). Sweet…as honey!

TALL FRONTED * WIDE & LEVEL TOP * TREMENDOUS REACH & FLEXIBILITY

This gilt can really roll. She is extremely flexible, loose spined, and motors freely on all four wheels. She is tall-fronted and explodes out of her blade into a wide cage and big top. She has a high tail setting with a big hip. She is taller with a bit more frame, but she fills her frame with lots of goods and power. We are excited about the future of this breed with females made right like 27-5, and she has generated key females in our herd. Neon Cowboy daughters are rare, but are like diamonds–they are priceless!

ULTRA COOL LOOK * FLEXIBILITY & DRIVE * BALANCE

Miss Magic 19-3 is a gilt that closely resembles her mother (Miss Magic 6-12–King Indy’s Dam). We appreciate how 19-3 puts together many positives that are difficult to combine in such a balanced package. She is one of the tall-fronted, clean neck females we own. Love how her depth and length of body balance. She has a level top with plenty of power from blade to hams. Check out her jacked up tail head and correct set from hock to ground. This girl puts in you a blank stare watch her walk away from you. She is one of the most correct females we own and she is super flexible with long stride length. This sow is the new look we have been striving to generate. She’s impressive! MQ

She is a more moderate framed female that we read as a barrow-maker. The future is bright with this Neon Cowboy gilt.

She is tall-fronted with a level top and she profiles extremely well with correctness of structure and bonework. She has a level hip and a high tail setting. She has an excellent pedigree for meat quality–Wheels Up was #2 for meat quality in 2015 and Walter was #4 for meat quality in 2013. Wheels Up is a grandson of Walter and so we skipped a generation and lined up the pedigree for consistency. HEAVY MUSCLE * STOUT * MEAT QUALITY

This gilt had a stout-made heavy muscled show look since she was young, but she really put on her game face once she hit 180 lbs. Wow! She is big bladed, big topped, and big hipped. She is wide-based and exudes a lot of power. We like her stoutness and correctness of structure. This girl has us excited, and we really like her combination pedigree (Meat Quality + Maternal + Style). There aren’t many Mizzou daughters out there, look in here if you want a pedigree and phenotype with power and meat quality genetics.

POWER & STOUTNESS * TALL-FRONTED * SOUNDNESS

Miss Magic GNK4 6-1 is one of the most powerful females we have generated. She is wide from the ground up to the top of her blades, loin, and hams. We appreciate her stoutness and heavy bone. Tall-fronted, level-topped, and clean-made in her elite design. She is good on her feet and legs, and she truly powers freely on all four. This girl is stout skulled and cool in her look. We love how Walter generated on this Gary Coleman sow. Miss Magic 6-1 is closely related to King Indy (Walter x a daughter of King Indy’s dam). We did not show her because we had one thing in mind–keep her at our place as a new female. Here’s to a combination pedigree (stoutness + maternal + meat quality). She is wide from her base to the top of her skeleton. She is massive and powerful in all dimensions, and she moves with flawless structure and flexibility. This girl was one of 7 gilts out of a high-selling litter. We decided to keep her because of blindness in her left eye and we are sure glad we did. Eye candy! Take a good look at this girl. The dam of Miss Magic 31-5 was the best gilt we sold out of the Fall, 2012 litters. We were glad she found a new home in Ohio and to work with Ryan Mast to pick this outstanding gilt out of her first litter. Miss Magic 31-5 is one of the widest chested gilts we have in our herd. Her front legs come out of her blade and are true to the ground. This powerful female has a wide level top and a crisp designed loin muscle. She is heavy boned and has excellent feet with wide-spread even toes. This girl is athletic and can really motor. We like the pedigree of this gilt (Bon Jovi / Double Stuff x Honey Badger / Gary Coleman).

It didn’t take us long to figure out this gilt would stay right here as a new foundation female. What would you expect when you combine two female generators. We love how tall-fronted and extended she is in her neck. This gilt is heavy boned with excellent feet and legs. Neil Mauck saw her and said, “She is heavy boned…maybe too heavy boned.” Really? Can a Berk have too much bone? Well, she carries herself with authority and flexibility. She has a massive top that complements her big blades and hips. This girl has us excited, and we really like her combination pedigree (Meat Quality + Maternal + Style).

BOLD BLADE * EXCELLENT DESIGN * FLEXIBILITY

After King Indy was named Berkshire Champion at the 2012 Indiana State Fair, we resisted the temptation to repeat the mating for 2 years so King Indy would get the attention at Shipleys. However, there has been a lot of anticipation around the 19 litter. Why? Because this is the repeat mating to King Indy! Many have asked if we had littermates or full sibs to King Indy. This gilt is SUPER ATTRACTIVE and structurally correct. TALL FRONTED and YOUTHFUL in her appearance, we like this gilt a great deal. We love how WIDE and CORRECT she is coming and going. Walter worked here and put together a tremendous replacement gilt for 10-4.

Let us introduce Kedron’s favorite sow. Browny 12-9 is our first investment in a Hereford breeding female. This girl has a wide jet level top. We showed her at our county fair, and she was the talk of the barn. We heard comments such as, “Did you see that Hereford gilt that looks like a barrow?” We appreciate her cool look and design–feminine in her head and neck, yet powerful in her blade, top and hip. She motors with ease and has good structure. The Hereford breed has a lot of excitement, and we are in on this girl.
